ESL Questions about Quizzes

What are they?


Tests (informal) of knowledge.


What does it mean to be quizzed? It means to be asked questions.


Do you like to be quizzed by teachers, policeman, your spouse, policeman? Why? Why not?


Did your teachers ever give you a surprise quiz?


Who would you like to quiz?


What don't you like to be quizzed about?


Do you like to watch quiz shows on television? What kind of questions are asked?

If you were on a quiz shows where you can win money? What kind of questions would you like to answer? On what kind of questions do you think of yourself as an expert? What kind of questions would you not know the answers to?


On what topics do you think you can do well? That is, you know the answers.

On what topics do you think you would do poorly? That is, you don't the answers.


Explain trivia. Trivia quizzes and Trivia shows. On what kind of trivia do the students think they are experts. What trivia topics do they think they are good at?
