ESL Discussion Questions about Plans

What are plans?

What activities are in involved in planning?  (What are verbs that go with planning?)

What do planners do?

Do you have any plans?  Why?  Why not?

What are your plans for today?  Do you plan your day?  When do you make daily plans?  Do you make detailed plans?

What are you planning for the weekend?

What are your plans for the rest of the summer?

What are you plans for the fall?  What are your plans for next year?  What are your plans for your life?  Do you have a plan or just vague ideas of what you will do?

Do you carry a daily planner with you?  Do you make a to-do list?

What does this mean:  "Make a plan B."?   Do you make plan A's, then B's, then C's....?

What does this mean:  "No plan survives first contact with the enemy."?   Does everything do according to plan?  Can we make a perfect plan?  What do we do if plans go wrong?

Is your day, summer, life going according to plan?  Do we really want our lives to go according to plan?

What things in life can't we plan for?  Do you have plans for emergencies?

Those who don't plan, plan to fail.  Agree?  Disagree?

Do you think you are a good planner?  Yes?  No?

What do you need to be if you want your plans to succeed?

Ad Lib.  This means to decide what to do at the moment?  Can you ad lib?  Do you see your teachers ab libbing?

What does this mean?  I will plan out my day.

Plan Idioms:  Best laid plans of mice and men go astray.  Plan for someone.  Plan on someone.  Plan on something.  Upset someone's plans.    A game plan.
