What makes a good teacher?

What does make a good teacher? Is a good teacher an entertainer? Is a good teacher full of qualifications? Here is a Will Wilkinson blog entry on the topic I found interesting. Look at the comments as well.

In the entry, I came across this provocative statement: Teaching should be open to anyone with a pulse and a college degree—and teachers should be judged after they have started their jobs, not before. There are things that can be said in support of this. In the time I have been able to hire people, I have looked at character and personality more than experience. Although, saying this, I have to hire people because they are warm bodies and not much else. And you really don't know how people will work out...

Meet Nancy and Josie

I wandered into the Study Advisor's office and took this video.

Nancy and Josie are awesome girls.

I am still here!

The job here gets pretty routine here, but still, I love it!

I am sorry if I haven't put an entry on this blog for a while. But, you will soon see a in-depth interview with two of our study assistants, Nancy and Josie.

Seagate SPC!

I am doing a speakers' corner at Seagate during their lunchtime. The topic: Questions you would ask famous people. The simplest topics can generate the best conversation if you ask the proper questions.

Seagate, a manufacturer of Hard Drives, is our biggest corporate client, and is keeping us very busy these days.

Lite On Golf Event 3

It was standing room only as spectators watched the putting tournament.

I didn't have much advice to offer the participants but I kept accurate scores.

Below, the tournament champion sinks the tournament's final putt. He was disappointed to learn that I was exaggerating when I announced a million rmb prize for the winner.

But the world will know Paul won the tournament because of this blog.

Lite On Golf Event 2

Before the tournament, yours truly had to give a little lecture...

And a demonstration. I didn't have the heart to tell them, I was at least a 40 handicap.
